Über Doktor L. Schmitt
Dr. Ludwig Schmitt (1925-1965) was a German physiotherapist. Through his profession he became interested in yoga and meditation and the links between physical and mental processes. In medical practice, he began to use breathing to promote natural healing powers of the body, releasing chronic pain conditions, to alleviate the physical and mental tension and influence the function of internal organs via the reflex zones. Gradually he began to develop new therapeutic school in which linked the anatomical and physiological knowledge about the human body to the Eastern philosophical and healing approach. Integrating massage is based on the fact that repeated stress and unresolved problems are the cause of increased tension in specific muscle groups. Those stresses cause hardening of connective tissue, swelling, muscle contraction, etc., and directly or indirectly, disrupt, detain or block the physiological breathing, breathing movement and thus the flow of energy. Manifestations of such blocks vary from poor posture, chronic pain, weakened immune system, to feelings of anxiety, fear, etc. Work with the body supports the body’s natural circulation; activates the self healing abilities and restores balance. Once a person experiences a sense of balance, he/she starts to feel comfortable and thus makes the return to a previous state complicated. The massage uses the overall energy of human body and is based on the work with both surface and in-depth muscles. The massage procedure is determined by exhaling, through which the blocjs in the body are relieved. Integrating massage is an excellent means for the removal of psychosomatic problems, especially problems associated with excessive stress and exhaustion. It can also be very effective for treating depression, insomnia, headaches and back pain, the blockade of nerves and joints. It contributes to better body image, and thus to more sensitive perception of life.
